Scary Stories Part 3

Midnight at the Mansion - By Alyssa - 5th grade

It was just a normal night on Halloween, but it was very quiet. No one came trick or treating. At that very moment I heard screams and yells.  The I felt hairs stand up on the back of my neck. There was someone touching me, so I yelled, "Go Away!! " , but no one was there. I was scared so I walked around the block. When I was walking I saw a huge party at a mansion, so I thought no one would notice and walked right on in.  Then the door shut and locked behind me, and at that moment I was trembling with fear.  I noticed the clock struck twelve. "What mess have I gotten myself into?" I said to myself.  All of a sudden I for picked up and thrown all the way across the room.  When I was in the air I heard a whispering voice say, "Why are you here? " I yelled  "Ghost!!!"  I tried to get out, but the doors were still locked and I needed to think fast.

There was a dimly lit hallway to my left so I ran as fast as I could away from the ghost.  As I was running, the hallway seemed to stretch right before my eyes. It just kept getting longer and longer as I ran and ran. As I ran past each door I heard all different screams from behind them and the lights started to flicker on and off. I started to shake really bad and had this feeling that I was being watched from every direction.

I finally decided to face my biggest fears and open on of the doors, hoping to escape this nightmare. When I opened the door a horrific ghostly figure with rusty old chains hanging from its arms and neck came charging right towards me. I threw my arms up in defense and let out the biggest scream of my life !  I closed the door quicker than I could blink. I took off  running again, even faster than before and spotted a door that seemed to have light coming from behind it. I opened the door and…

I woke up to a bright Fall sky in the morning. I said to myself, "Wow, that was the worst nightmare ever had." I threw my covers back to hop out of bed and "clank", a rusty old chain fell to my floor! Was I dreaming or ???

Hannah A. -  5th grade  Ella

I was laying in my bed. Sweat beading down my forehead, asking myself the same question over and over, "What lies behind my door and what does it want with me?" I could barely make out a soft creaking noise through my heartbeat. Someone, or something was waiting.  I

knew it couldn't be my mom or dad, for they were away at my Aunt Lisa's. I wished now more than ever that they were here.  Not only is there someone waiting and listening, there was a storm that had been blowing up for about forty-five minutes. The I heard the sharp sound of a vase breaking. I was even more frightened. Not only was there a criminal in my house, there was a clumsily criminal in  the house, and now it knew that I knew it was here.  I waited for it's decent. Just me waiting. Then I heard a remarkable noise.  It was the bark of my four year old Labradoodle Ella.  "Oh No!" I said aloud. If Ella was in danger then I had to help her. I jumped out of bed and ran to the door.  I quickly turned the doorknob.

Then I saw Ella was afraid. I scoured the house with her looking for whatever criminal was there. After checking every room from head to toe I realized one thing; Ella was afraid of the storm and she was the one who broke the vase and was waiting by my door.  I panted a sigh of relief. Then I let Ella come with me to bed.  The End… Or at least I thought it was the end. But I was wrong. It wasn't anywhere near  the end. It was just the beginning . When I woke up that morning Ella was gone.  Yah, you heard me, gone.  Now I was really worried. Ella was my best friend. I thought about calling my parents, but I decided I didn't want to worry too. It was bad enough that I was scared, and probably Ella too if she was still alive. By one o'clock I lost it. I couldn't pull it together.  I thought I would always be a sobbing ball nestled in the corner of the living room. But by three o'clock I pulled myself together enough to make posters and put them up around the neighborhood.  I had figured someone would answer me.

Three days later and not one person did.  I decided instead of waiting I would take action.  I packed
my backpack with  a ham sandwich, a banana, and Ella's favorite treat. Instead of quickly pulling my shoes on like I usually do, I carefully tied the laces. I threw my book bag on and strapped on my helmet.  Then I hopped on my bike.  I decided I would go straight down Lee Street and turn left on Meadow Lane.  I would ride for about an hour and a half and then I would turn around. As I rode I looked from side to side screaming, "Ella, Ella! " But she didn't come.

Then I saw a scruffy man. There was a dog next to him. But it wasn't just any dog, it was Ella! I knew a twelve year old girl wouldn't be that intimidating, but I tried.  "Give me that dog back!" I yelled.  "What if I don't?" replied the man.  "I'll call the police." I continued.  "I'm so scared." he said.
"You better be." said a voice behind me.  It was a police officer. He must have been watching. But as soon as he said that the scruffy man darted away faster than lighting.  Ella came running towards me. After we reunited, I thanked the police officer and went home.    THE END

The Spooky Story - Austin - 5th grade

One Halloween I went trick or treating with my friends. After I was done getting candy I went back to my house to see what candy I got.  I went through my candy, and I found some candy that was open so I threw it away.  After I threw away the candy I counted it all up and I had 298 pieces of candy left in my bag.  I asked my mom, "Can i have some candy?" She said " You can have a couple of pieces." So I ate some candy and then got dressed for bed. I was in bed and I put my covers on and then turned off the lights. I went to sleep then woke up at about 1:00 in the morning. I woke up because I heard a strange noise at my window.

I got up to see what the noise was.  I looked out my window and I saw a zombie though the window making a really weird noise. I was frightened when I heard he noise. So I ran info my mom's room to tell her what I saw .  She said " Your dad and I will go outside and see what is going on." I said, "Ok, I will also come outside with you and investigate. " So we went outside to see what it was and it was a person wearing a zombie mask trying to scare people on Halloween.  My mom said, "Go inside and get the phone. We are going to call the cops and get this guy put in jail for trying to scare you at 1:00 in the morning."  So I did what she said, and I called the cops and they said they would be over in 15 minutes with handcuffs and arrest him.

15 minutes later the cops were here and they asked the kid.
" What was he going trying to scare people at 1:00 in the morning. People have to go to work in the morning, instead you are out here trying to scare their kids and they have to come outside and see what is going on when they should be sleeping." The kid in the mask said " I was just trying to have some fun and have a good laugh on Halloween. That's all I did not mean to scare them.  I just wanted to have some fun."

"For this time, I will just let you off with a warning, okay. "  said the cop.  "Okay,"  said the kid. " I will not do it again."   The cop said, " I need to talk with the people about what happened, so could you please leave."   " Yes." replied the kid as he was walking away.

"Okay, now if you have any more problems just call me. I will be at my office till about 8:00 in the morning. Please call me if you have any problems." said the officer.

"I will, and thank you for all your help. Have a good night officer" I said.  "You too," he replied.

"Now Austin, you need to get some rest you have to go to school in the morning. I said "ok" and good night to mom and dad.  So I went up to my room and went to sleep.  Well, my parents thought I went to sleep, but I was really getting ready to play a prank on my parents. The kids out in the yard before in my story was helping me plan the whole thing.  We had been planning it for 2 weeks at school, and while we were trick or treating, we planned it and I told him to come over to my house and we would play a trick on my parents when they were asleep.

At 2:30 in the morning my parents were asleep, so I went down stairs and let him in. We went upstairs and got our costumes on and got ready to scare my parents. At about 2:45 am, we were both ready and went in my parent's room. I planned that I would lay on the floor and I would scream help! We were ready for action so I screamed help!! My mom and dad got up very quickly to see what was going on. Me and my friend burst out laughing. My parents were so mad they had a long talk with us about what we did.
