Visiting the Ohio Renaissance Festival

Hey y'all,

So I got to visit The Renaissance Festival in Harveysburg, OH on Saturday, September 8th.

I had lots of fun, plus learned a lot.

I was able to interview their director of marketing. Ms. Cheryl.
She said that the Joust and The Mudde Show are the most attended attractions at the event. There are a few popular weekends, the Pirates, Romance, and Highland weekend. She also said: “ There is something for all ages, young and old, to enjoy at the Renaissance festival. For the price you pay, you are getting a full day of interactive, continuous entertainment plus a unique shopping experience, as well as a very modestly priced menu compared to other events.

I watched the Kamikaze Fireflies, which was very funny,my favorite act they did is when they juggled fire, one on stilts, and one on a person!

Then I got to see Seven Nations,
Seven Nations is an Irish band, and I got a chance to interview the lead singer Kirk. http://www.sevennations.com
I asked...
Q: How old were you when you found your interest in music?
A: I had always had a love for music, my family played music, so I ended up playing piano.

Q: When did you start Seven Nations?
A: We started in the 1980's, but got the big break in 1994.

Q: What is your favorite type of music? Why?
A: I like any type of music with a groove. It's just something I love, if I can find a melody, and a groove then I have fun with it.

Q: What is your favorite instrument?
A: I love piano. My mom played it so, I ended up learning.

I also got to see human chess, and jousting. I had an awesome time at the Renaissance Festival I

rish Weekend! So I recommend that you go online with your parents permission, look at the Renaissance Festival.

9 /11 / 2012

Hey y'all,

I am gonna be talking about 9/11, since you might not have time to write something up I thought I would tell you a little bit, but if you want to email me something, or put something in the comments, go right ahead. So if you want to know my feelings look for My Thoughts on 9/11 by RJ. Today marks the anniversary of the terrorist attack in New York City and Washington D.C. The attack was 11 years ago, that seems like a long time, and people would forget about it, but really you can't forget about it. We must always remember those who died that day, and those who have given their lives since to keep us free.

Last year I had kids from Ohio answer these questions.
1. In a few sentences, what do you know about 9/11?
2. How old were you when you first heard about 9/11?
3. Talk with someone 20 years or older, and let us know how growing up after 9/11 has been different for you compared to kids who were in school before 9/11?

I heard from people from all over the state of Ohio. The links to the 9/11 posts are listed below:

Back to School

Hey y'all. Haven't been on in a while, but I've been busy. I just got back to school on Wednesday,so I just got a new locker. Now since some of you are probably going into middle school, or intermediate school, there are lots of new kids. make sure you make friends with them, be nice, you might have something in common. You might find a new friend, or even a new best friend. I know I did. So this year try to make some new friends. Now, lets talk about lockers. I don't like mine, because, I'm not experienced, but after the first week or so you'll have it down, it's just Right, Left, then Right again. So I am thinking about doing a 9/11 Project again, so just send in a paragraph or two, talking about 9/11 in your point of view. Have a good time at school! RJ:)

What is A Hometown

I have gotten a few questions as to what I mean by hometown.

It can be either where you were born or the city you live in / grew up in.

If you write a submission, be sure to say what your hometown is.

Can't wait to see where your hometown is.

RJ :)
